# Generate forms with AI
Describe a form in plain language and get a ready draft: from the assistant, from a blank New form, or inside the editor.

Instead of building a form block by block, describe what you want and let AI draft it. Generated fields are ordinary blocks: edit their labels, reorder them, or delete them exactly like anything you add yourself.

## Starting from scratch

From Home or Forms, open the New form menu and choose Generate: the assistant panel opens. Describe the form you want in a sentence or two and the assistant creates it as a draft and opens the editor, ready to refine. You can also just type the description into the assistant input on any page.

## Adding to an existing form

Inside the editor, use the assistant input floating over the canvas, or Suggest questions beside the add bar. Describe the questions you want and the assistant proposes them in its panel as suggested changes you review first: remove the ones you do not want, then Apply adds the rest to the form as ordinary blocks, and Dismiss discards them all. While it is working, the send button becomes Stop if you would rather not wait. The conversation stays in the panel as you move around the app.

The assistant reads your current questions and proposes every edit as a suggested change: additions, rewording, moves, and removals alike, nothing lands until you apply it. Tell it where something belongs (“after the email question”) and the suggestion is placed there. A vague “add a question” gets a short question back about what it should ask, rather than a guess; ask it to suggest questions when you want it to choose.

> File upload fields are never generated. Add them yourself from the slash menu; see question types.

> Generating a form and each assistant request spend one AI action. Dismissing a suggestion, or stopping a request after you sent it, does not refund the action; a request that fails is refunded automatically. See AI assistant and actions for how the monthly quota works.
