About Formbear
Why we built it
Most form builders make you choose: something that looks good, or something that respects your respondents’ data. We wanted both. So Formbear is a block-based builder on a calm, document-style canvas (every question is a block: add one with a slash command, drag it into place), a public form that loads fast and looks like it belongs to you, and a place to read every answer without a spreadsheet. Nobody who fills in your form ever needs an account.
Who is behind it
Formbear is made by Typical, a small independent studio in the European Union. No venture funding, no growth team, no roadmap dictated by a board. What gets built is what people ask for, and what fits one rule we will not bend: your data stays in Europe.
Europe, by default
Everything that touches your data runs on EU-owned infrastructure in Germany: the app, the database, and file storage. Answers are encrypted at rest with our own application key, and response or personal data never passes through a processor outside the EU. Every customer can sign a Data Processing Agreement, and the few subprocessors we rely on are named in the privacy policy. Not as a badge, just how it is built.
Free means free
Unlimited forms, unlimited responses, no expiry, no credit card. That is the Free plan, and it is not a trial. Pro, at EUR 24 a month or EUR 240 a year, is for when you want your own domain, file uploads, partial responses, revision history, the full design controls, a bigger AI allowance, and your whole team on board without paying per seat. Unlimited comes with a fair use policy, which mostly says: please don’t run a botnet through it.
Friendly to the tools you already use
Your workspace is open to AI agents through an MCP server and a REST API. Ask Claude, ChatGPT, or your own script what people answered, or on Pro, have it draft the next form for you.
